What does it mean to be a value based church. Values are different from structure in that a structure tends to be set without change and values are based in growth. These are the values of Cornerstone Church:
Knowing God Salvation: Understanding our atonement and how we are saved by grace. Lordship: Understanding God’s rule in our lives and how we must obey Him, His will rather than our own. Fatherhood: Seeing God’s revelation of Himself as our Father and how that affects our families, our understanding of authority, and our relationship with God Himself. Faith Towards God: Building a strong belief system characterized by conviction and trust in God and His word, being able to discern the voice of God. Praise and Worship: Ministering to Him as we worship, whether alone or as a group. Grace: Walking in God’s love, favor and influence.
Servant hood Serving: Laying down of one’s life on a day to day basis. Giving: Looking to give out of one’s self in time, energy, and resources.
Holiness, Purity Separation from the World: Becoming set apart for God. Conforming to the image of Christ: Being new creations in Christ. Denying Ungodliness: Keeping ourselves free from sin.
The Cross Humility: Learning to have an honest and truthful heart, and to have a realistic assessment of one’s own worth and importance. Brokenness: Denying or surrendering of self and yielding to God.
Loving One Another and Your Neighbor Building Relationally: Forming long term relationships, with the church family. Edification: Building each other up in love, knowing the Holy Spirit and His gifts. Evangelism: Care and concern for those who do not know God. Unity: Walking in unity with our brothers and sisters not just locally but wherever we may be. The Church: Biblical understanding of God’s Church and it’s local community or expression.
